Overview

This position supports daily operations of the Invasive Cardiac Catheterization lab by functioning as a supervisor, clinician, and educational support to care providers in the department. This role will provide leadership in the areas of training, clinical oversight, completion of competencies, and resource to Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist.

This role will identify the education needs of the department and individual clinician and provide support that meets the needs and requirements of the highly specialized and technical demands of the department by coordinating and implementing educational activities that meet assessed educational needs. Educational offerings will be relevant to the daily operations of the department and in alignment with the organization?s values, mission, goals, performance standards and practice standards. This position will promote evidence-based practice and a culture that advances innovation and enhancement of the skills needed to meet the demands of this specialized skill requirement.

Responsibilities


Assist with the implementation and monitoring of all elements of quality performance, reviewing reports for internal committees and external compliance with regulatory agencies. Ensure that the department meets all compliance and regulatory requirements from internal and external agencies such as The Joint Commission.

Assist with the preparation of departmental budgets and annual objectives. Assist with maintaining departmental performance standards to meet the guidelines of performance objectives.

Collaborate with other leaders/departments to deliver quality, safe, culturally competent, patient-centered care throughout the organization.

Manage clinical programs in the Invasive CV Labs to ensure staff competence and quality outcomes. Promotes and uses evidence-based research to identify strategies to improve outcomes.

Manage daily operations of the department: Cost, staff scheduling, workflow, patient through put, and general department oversight.

Promote ongoing communication with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff regarding quality and satisfaction with all departmental activities.

Promotes physician/hospital relationships in order to enhance Invasive Cardiovascular Service Line operations.

Provides education based on the needs of the department or individual. Planned programs are reflective of Cone Health?s values, mission, and goals. Demonstrates knowledge and skill in this specialized clinical area.

Provides support to departmental and organizational leadership, providing feedback and input on daily operations and staff/physician performance.

Serve as clinical, educational, and technical support to staff and physicians, providing education as needed and insuring annual competencies are met.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:
Required:

? High School Diploma or equivalent.

? Graduate from an accredited Registered Nurse program.

? Graduate of RN Accredited Education Program; Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred in accordance with Cone Health?s Policy for BSN attainment.

? A BSN degree in progress with defined graduation date will be considered

Preferred:

? Graduate of RN Accredited Education Program; Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred in accordance with Cone Health?s Policy for BSN attainment.

EXPERIENCE:
Required:

? Cardiac specialty experience.

Preferred:

? Emergency Department nursing experience.

? 2 years of telemetry experience.

? Cardiac specialty experience preferred.

? An equivalent of education and experience may be considered.

? Cardiac specialty experience.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
REQUIRED

Drivers License | Valid Drivers License

BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider

Required:

? An unencumbered North Carolina Nursing License (Verified by the NCBON).

? Graduate of RN Accredited Education Program; Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred in accordance with Cone Health?s Policy for BSN attainment.

? A BSN degree in progress with defined graduation date will be considered.

? RCIS certification- if not obtain within 24 months of hire.

Preferred:

? Graduate of an Accredited BSN program.

? MSN.

? American Heart Association Health Care Provider required (ACLS to be completed within 6 months of hire).

? RCIS certification

PREFERRED

*If driving Cone Health vehicle, must have 5 years of driving experience and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.
