Overview

The Professional Fee Billing Manager is accountable to manage the daily operations of the Professional Fee (Pro Fee) Billing Department and interact with other Cone entities and vendors as appropriate. The Pro Fee Billing Manager will act as a liaison between the Revenue Cycle Management team and Cone Health Provider Practices.

Responsibilities


Department Duties - Manage the daily operations of the Pro Fee Billing Department. Process and monitor time (KRONOS) and attendance for all direct reports. Hire, Train, orient, and discipline department employees. Establish and maintain continual productivity standards and outcome measures to successfully achieve departmental objectives. Manage staff to ensure effective completion of all departmental activities and maintain approriate staffing levels. Conduct 3 and 6 month probationary reviews and annual evaluations for each staff member prior to the due date.

Decision Support - Develop and revise job descriptions and departmental policies as needed. Assist in the development of annual departmental budget and objectives. Monitor expenditures to stay within approved budget. Make decisions regarding necessary changes or new procedures within area of supervision with support from the Pro Fee Leaders. Assist in planning to improve operating efficiency, including documentation procedures.

Communication - Provides communication from the billing and follow-up functions as to incomplete or inacurate information resulting from the front-end back functions to Pro Fee Business Liasion, Pro Fee Leadership and Information Systems for resolution.

Compliance - Ensures that Revenue Cycle services are provided in accordance with the State and Federal regulations, organizational policy, and accreditation/compliance requirements. Maintains compliance to all regulatory requirements/law as they relate to responsibilities (Corporate Compliance, HIPPA, etc.). Remains current through education, in-services, etc.

Qualifications


EDUCATION:
Required: Associate's Degree in Business, Healthcare, or related field.

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree

EXPERIENCE:
Required: Minimum 3 years? experience managing a physician office or a professional business office department

EPIC experience.

Preferred: 5+ years managing a professional billing office or practice

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
REQUIRED
