This position combines financial counseling and pre-certification duties. As Financial Counselor, this position is responsible for establishing acceptable financial arrangements on assigned patient accounts by way of securing sponsorship form various federal, state, and county agencies or arrange personal payment, in order to meet the patient?s financial obligation to the Clinic and ensure reimbursement accountability. As Pre-Certification Coordinator, this position is responsible for obtaining authorizations for inpatient hospital admissions and authorization for all outpatient procedures.

Responsible for processing medical Release of Information requests to patients and third party requesters, in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with HIPAA, federal, and state guidelines. Will use designated equipment and databases to enter, update and maintain all pertinent information relative to requests and disclosures. Assist in development and implementation of information management standards and systems to support the patient record. Responsible for supporting ROI workflows within the HIM ROI Division.

Responsible for supporting the inpatient nursing department's scheduling/staffing efforts to ensure adequate staffing in all departments. Maintain the nursing department data base. The schedule for this role is 6:30am - 6:30pm Sat and Sun with one 12 hr night shift every other week. Total hours equal to 30 hours a week.

The purpose of this position is to register all patients needing services. The role is responsible for obtaining accurate and complete demographic, financial, and medical information. The person performing this role anticipates and acts on the needs of our customers to enhance the patient experience. This is a Relief role that is work when needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Engages patients throughout the registration process to create a welcoming and positive patient experience
- Appropriate patient identification
- Collecting accurate and thorough patient demographic data
- Obtaining insurance information and verifying eligibility and benefits
- Determining and collecting patient financial liability
- Referring patients to a Patient Financial Resource Specialist as needed for assistance with financial counseling
