Plans, integrates, controls and evaluates human, material and fiscal resources required to provide patient care in specific departments. Provides leadership in establishing standards, goals, and direction. Facilitates, coordinates, and manages staff, material, and financial resources to achieve patient outcomes/care and to promote professional development/practice of staff. Incorporates the Nursing Department philosophy into leadership and clinical practice. Ensures implementation of departmental and department specific patient care standards and nurse competencies. This position serves the following patient age categories: neonatal, pediatrics, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
This leadership role will support Cone Health's Congregational and Community Nurse Program.

The Medical Director Clinical Variation Optimization (CVO) will work closely with executive leadership, physician leaders, and the Cone Health Supply Chain Management administrative leadership to drive system wide improvement in quality of patient care delivery, reduction in waste, and improvement in cost through deployment of physician partnerships and strategic development. They will be involved in supply expense analysis, cost evaluation, quality analysis, vendor relations, and other areas that impact patient care. This role will be responsible for enrolling and communicating to the Cone Health Medical Staff Members, and act as a liaison to physicians to communicate the objectives of the CVO. They will participate as a member of the Supply Chain leadership team and the Cone Clinical Variation Optimization Committee, and as such be a change agent in development of initiatives to drive excellence in patient care, cost sustainment, and physician satisfaction.

The Medical Director - Rural Health North Region will provide leadership, direction and planning for health service delivery within their geographic region with a focus on innovation and continuity of care that is specific to a rural community. They will support the North & East Regional CMO with duties related to the facility-based medical staff, as well as providing input and guidance on a wide range of clinical and operational activities for the facility/region. Specific additional focus areas will include patient experience, provider engagement, quality, safety, and compliance/regulatory issues as is relevant to the rural environment.

Supports daily operations for The Cone Health Cancer Center. Manages office operations including patient registration, patient scheduling, health information management, medical transcription, cash collection, and statistical reporting. Supervises and evaluates the activities of office personnel. Collaborates with and provides support to the physicians and clinical staff, to support appropriate patient scheduling and volume management. Interfaces with a variety of Cone Health departments such as Admitting, Patient Accounting, Health Information Management, Revenue Cycle, etc. to provide information and to assure consistent practices. Participates as a member of the management team in performance improvement, improving the patient experience, policy and procedure review, budgetary planning and monitoring, strategic planning.

The Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operational aspects of assigned practices, including managing processes related to financial (revenue cycle) performance, clinical performance, strategic planning, statistical analysis, and process improvement at the practice and/or divisional level.
