We also focus on patients who need Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) and Apheresis services to include therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE), red cell exchange and white blood cell / platelet depletion.    This is a fast-paced procedural area with remarkable team collaboration and diversity.   The Internal Medicine Residency Program at Moses Cone Hospital, a tertiary care, community teaching hospital that is part of Cone Health in Greensboro, N.C. seeks an academic general Internist to join as a (0.5) FTE with benefits, Faculty role. Role is that of clinician-teacher to residents and students, both inpatient and outpatient, in a general Internal Medicine program. Must be board certified in Internal Medicine with experience in teaching.  Our program is strongly affiliated with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.   The Internal Medicine Program consists of 22 residents; 6 categorical residents per year and 4 additional preliminary interns. The program provides a community-based, comprehensive curriculum in Internal Medicine. The position also requires an academic skillset that includes curriculum development, evaluation, advising, and scholarly activity. Experience in outpatient medicine, including clinic administration is desirable, but not required. Leadership opportunities are available within the residency as well.  Interest in global health, and care of the medically underserved are desirable but not required.    Our seven core Faculty are dedicated clinician-educators who are well supported to serve as instructors and mentors to residents and interns. Clinical reasoning, evidence-based medicine, and the practical use of medical informatics are emphasized. Physician wellness and fostering resiliency are highly valued.   Our educational conference series include morning report to teach case-based clinical reasoning, noon conference led by core faculty or subspecialists from the community, journal club with a dedicated curriculum for evidence-based medicine, clinical improvement conference to foster life-long learning, and weekly grand rounds featuring scientific updates with speakers from tertiary academic research centers.   Cone Health, established in 1953, is a 501c(3), not-for-profit hospital system, that has grown into one of North Carolina’s most extensive, comprehensive, and trusted healthcare networks.
