FM Teaching Faculty Position—Cone Health
The Cone Health Family Medicine Teaching Residency Program in Greensboro, NC, is recruiting a full-time Teaching Faculty Family Medicine physician.
The successful candidate will be a board-certified or board eligible Allopathic or Osteopathic Family Medicine physician with interest in both inpatient and outpatient care and clinical teaching of both residents and medical students. The position also requires an academic skillset that includes curriculum development, evaluation, advising, and scholarly activity. Leadership opportunities are available within the residency as well. Interest in osteopathic manipulative medicine, global health, and care of the medically underserved are desirable but not required. Salary and academic rank commensurate with experience.
One of the first 16 Family Medicine residency programs in the nation, ours is a highly successful 8/8/8 program well known for excellence in preparing well-rounded residents for clinical practice. Members of the Cone Health Faculty receive academic appointments in the Department of Family Medicine of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the program plays an active role in the education of UNC medical students on our campus. The residency also benefits from the presence of a nationally renowned Sports Medicine Fellowship and an OB Fellowship program affiliated with the residency. Our Family Medicine Center sits on the campus of the flagship hospital of the Health System and is the home of our resident/faculty clinical practice. It has embedded pharmacy, psychology, and nutrition services.
About the area. The Greensboro urban area is the 3rd largest in North Carolina with a population of 300,000 people and a regional population of approximately 1 million. Greensboro offers excellent schools along with numerous parks, multi-cultural and sporting events, including the newly opened Tanger Center for Performing Arts, and much more. This family-friendly city is also one of the most diverse mid-size cities in America. For weekend getaways, Greensboro is within easy driving distance to the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area, as well as the pristine beaches of NC, SC, and VA.
The position provides leadership to clinical nutrition personnel to ensure compliance with departmental, organizational and regulatory standards. The position provides leadership to the registered dietitian team to ensure evidenced based nutrition care is provided across the stages of patient/resident development. This position provides leadership in the areas of staff development, clinical practice development, and research and quality improvement. The position is also responsible for the assessment of staff competency and employee performance appraisals. The position engages with the multi-disciplinary team and leadership to advocate, advise, and consult on nutrition related topics.

Accountable for operational issues with patients, families, nursing staff and physicians, between departments and with outside agencies. Provides on-site problem solving for incidents, notifying/involving administrators and leadership as indicated. Represents nursing administration and facility administration during their absence. This position serves the following patient age categories: adult and geriatric.
